#008 Lund

Lund Loop
Distance: 52km
Height: 368m
Direction: Anti-clockwise
Percentage: 70% gravel and single track. 30% road
Route Designer: Daniel Klang

A tour that has it all. From the picturesque city of Lund in Skåne, South Sweden, this trail starts out on perfect farm gravel roads taking you east to the nature reserves of Knivsåsen and Skryllegården. A gentle start takes you to the forest of Björnstorp where our tour takes the easier gravel but with trails going in every different direction you can make this part a difficult as you want. If you take the proposed option don’t worry, by tracking north and hitting the Skåneleden through Knivsåsen Nature Reserve you’ll get a chance to dirty your shoes.

Talking with the route’s author, Daniel Klang, his route becomes more adventurous from here on in. Further, between Tornahällestad and Skrylle, you could be tempted to cut through the forest on rougher trails but there has been issues between bikers and hikers so its best to follow the gravel around the forest. If you stick to the tour, Daniel says some hike-a-bike maybe required in this part but you are rewarded with some great CX riding. But he also suggests that those wanting an easier ride could stay on the asphalt and by pass this section, but where’s the fun in that?

After having tackling the nature reserves you cruse downhill back into Lund for your well deserved fika. Daniel rode all the route on 35mm tyres but does recommend good shoes especially for the Tornhällestad and Skrylle section.

  1. Fantastiskt fin rutt, speciellt delarna kring Björstorp och Dalby stenbrott. Vi cyklade den idag 28/12 med några minusgrader, solsken och vindstilla. Perfekt dag på gruset!
