A great thing about the gravel community is that its members are open, inclusive and are keen to help and guide others. And, in the case of this next route all are correct about its author, Magnus Lagher. I first met Magnus at the bike mässa in Kista several years back when he was giving a talk about bikepacking. He put on a great show and was generous with his time afterwards answering question. I knew from right then that Magnus was, and is a valued member of our community. Given the fact that Magnus was involved in a life altering car vs bicycle accident several years ago his continued enthusiasm and contribution to riding is truly inspiring.

Not long after his cycle trip this summer 2019 ( a little ride from his home in Norrköping to Spain! ) Magnus began organising his second annual gravel event in the Norrköping region.  Teaming up with Brew Dog in Norrköping, Magnus designed and lead out the second edition of his Tour de Ville on Saturday 19th October with massive success. So much so that next year his is planning to host three events in the region.

It’s a long ride of 76km but with only 400m of climbing this tour is more inclusive than one would think. Magnus rode on his Salsa Fargo 29″ with 2.25″ Rocket Rons the first year but in October just gone he switched to his 36mm Kenda tyres. The route is 99.9% ride-able and circles around Norrköping with the all important Fika break at Soderköping Golf Club just  short detour off the trail.
